Introduce Yourself

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?

I already have a physical diary that I’ve been keeping since I was 7 years old but writing in this blog format on my website makes me think about completely different topics. It’s very difficult to write without using ‘I’ or ‘me’ all the time, probably shows my self-centeredness. You’d think that all the bad habits would be gone after writing a few books and publishing one. That said, it was self-published and no-one gave it anywhere as much criticism as I receive for my artwork.

  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?

This is going to stay art-focused, hopefully. There’s no way I’ll talk about anything too personal at this time and age. I already had a phase like that when I was a teenager.

  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?

The whole networking aspect of the art world is extremely draining for an introvert. I’m not even shy, I like talking to people from time to time but getting anything done in your work as a painter that isn’t painting itself, involves talking to strangers. When I start making enough money I’ll hire someone to do all the talking for me. That said, if you’ve ventured this far and you want to email me about anything interesting, as long as it’s not small talk, I’ll definitely like receiving an email.
